We’re not sure, they’re not sure, but what we do know is if you’re interested in Spanish chemical and pharmaceutical production, you should be paying attention. Catalonia is responsible for the majority of Spain’s pharmaceutical sector—seven of the ten biggest pharma companies have sites there—as well as over 1,100 chemical companies. That means 1) the region is a rather strong economic force and 2) Madrid will not be very happy about losing that.
